Rwanda, Uganda & Kenya Team Up to Market Tourism

However, Kenya has entered into a joint tourism marketing agreement with Uganda and Rwanda to sell the region as a single tourist destination. This is aimed to attract more tourists in the region and to all the three countries. The secret was revealed by the Kenya’s Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala on Wednesday.

While speaking during the opening of the 6th Magical Kenya Tourism Expo, Mr. Balala said that the three East African countries had resolved to have a joint marketing strategy in order to attract more tourist arrivals.”After three days of deliberations, we have agreed to market the region as one. Starting November, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda will be marketing themselves with one stand,” he said. Many tourists to east Africa have always been green about other region attractions and those who come to visit usually focus one particular country leaving out other nice interesting attractions in the neighboring countries.

The new marketing strategy will unveil the best kept secret of travel in the East Africa and tourists will now start exploring the most incredible attractions that each county has to offer. Many wildlife lovers have been storming Kenya, Primate and nature to Rwanda while those interested in mixing up primates, water sports and wildlife go to Uganda. Also the three countries have removed the visa barriers in order to allow tourists to use same visa acquired at one point of entry into East Africa to access all the three countries without paying any extra fees or stopping into other embassies.

Additionally, the Kenya’s Tourism Cabinet Secretary Mr Najib Balala added that Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya will jointly market the East Africa community in the upcoming London expo as one destination in a bid to boost tourism. He confirmed that the three countries will have one stand during the world travel market (WTM London 2016) .The London expo will take place on Monday,7th-Wenesday,9th November   2016  opening  at 10am and closing at 7pm.The move serves to complement the single entry visa that the countries have been marketing to tourists and whose uptake has been sluggish.
